Rivera invests on education

Kagawad Ronnel C. Rivera believes that education is not a privilege for those who can only afford but a right for every child as a respond to their basic needs and to expand to their full potential as a person. While other countries are gearing towards quality education and global competition, it is incontestable that in our country, our government is still up for ensuring education for every child despite efforts from all corners. “Kanunay i-sacrifice ang edukasyon ilabina ang mga indigent. Usahay ibahin-bahin pa, ang uban sa mga anak maka-eskwela u gang uban undang una,” said Kgd. Rivera. Furthermore, Rivera had already expressed even during the campaign on May 2010 election that education will become one of his priority programs. This vision has been fulfilled through the program PTA Donation under the Ronnel C. Rivera Foundation Inc., along with the promise not to keep his salary as a councilor but give it back to the constituents of Gensan for his program.

Kgd. Rivera’s salary as a councilor has been turned-over to the PTA Donation program of the Ronnel C. Rivera Foundation, Inc (RCRFI). Two public elementary schools are chosen every month as a beneficiary school and around 100 pupils on the average are subsidized with their PTA fee. Beneficiaries of the said program are subjected to pre-screening process facilitated by the RCRFI staff. Pre-screening process involves comprehensive assessment and evaluation of the status of the pupil. To date, more than 1000 pupils have benefitted to the said program and for a year now, Kgd. Rivera through the RCRFI has continuously propagating its mission to help every child finish primary education.
